Seeking expressions of interest for full-time,
part-time & casual vacancies in 2010

Sunferries is an award-winning tourism and transport passenger ferry company based in Townsville operating services to Magnetic Island and Palm Island with a fleet of 5 high-speed catamarans.

We have a number of exciting projects to look forward to over the next 12 months, including the construction of a new ferry.  To keep up with the company's expanding operations, we are seeking expressions of interest from self-motivated and experienced Cruise Attendants and Deckhands to be considered for future vacancies on our ferries. 

Sunferries operates 7 days a week, 365 days of the year, including weekends, public holidays and school holidays.  Rosters are generally 4 days on, 3 days off, with some overtime available.  Candidates must be able to work a variety of shifts, including early starts at 5am and late finishes at 2am.  Due to the timing of shifts, it is preferred that candidates have their own means of transport to get themselves to work on time.  

Essential Criteria:

• Advanced customer service and cash handling skills

• Sound knowledge of vessels and ropes

• Reliable and trustworthy

• Friendly and outgoing, with strong communication skills

• Basic computer skills

• Responsible Service of Alcohol

• Senior First Aid & Advanced Resuscitation

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience in the Tourism Industry

• Elements of Shipboard Safety (Occupational Health & Safety at Sea)

• Coxswains ticket or minimum 6 months sea time

• Ability to work unsupervised
