Explore the very best that Magnetic Island has to offer on your 3 hour fully guided tour. Departing twice daily discover the geology, history and wildlife of Magnetic Island including morning or afternoon tea, rock wallaby and fish feeding, photo stops, walks and much more. The tour utilizes one of the smaller buses that enable the tour to get to areas not generally accessible by the larger bus fleet. Every tour meets the ferry.

Days of Operation: Twice daily
Ferry Departure Time (Townsville): 8:45am for the morning tour and 12:55pm for afternoon tour
Tour Departure Time (Magnetic Island): 9:15am for the morning tour and 1:15pm for afternoon tour

S.S. Yongala Dive Site

S.S. Yongala Dive Site

The SS "Yongala" off Cape Bowling Green near Townsville, is one of the best wreck dives in the world. At 110 metres long she is one of the largest, most intact historic shipwrecks and intriguing maritime mysteries. Sinking in 1911 with loss of all aboard, she lay undiscovered for more than half a century. An exciting dive adventure with its coral encrusted structure and incredible array of marine life, including eagle rays, turtles, giant Queensland gropers, schooling barracuda, sea snakes and much more.

Departure: From Townsville at 7:00am and Magnetic Island at 7:25am
Return: Magnetic Island at 5pm - approx and Townsville at 5:30pm - approx

Inclusions: Drop off to city accommodation, morning and afternoon tea, lunch, tank and weights (Pick up available for extra charge)

Bungalow Bay Koala Village is the only resort in Australia that can boast its own wildlife park on site. In-house guests, day visitors and island residents have the opportunity to learn all about the habitats and unique Aussie animals of Magnetic Island, through an interpretative and hands-on approach which encourage you to explore the island and animals of Magnetic Island. There are 3 daily wildlife presentations. 10am, 12 noon and 2:30pm. See koalas, lizards, colourful bird life, hold a crocodile and snake. Explore the nearby Eucalypt forest, wetlands, mangroves or coastal dunes, then learn about the history of the traditional owners, the Wulgurukaba people.

Join us on board Providence V, a 62-foot gaff rigged schooner which runs day and evening sails around the granite-bouldered, magnificent beaches of Magnetic Island. Come along for a gourmet picnic on one of the island's 23 secluded bays or an evening cruise: slip into the sunset with a complimentary champagne and nibbles. Sail back in the moonlight. All cruises currently leave from Nelly Bay harbour next to the ferry terminal on Magnetic island.

The historical Grumman Sea-Cat is the only two passenger, open cockpit bi-plane on floats in the world. It starred in the movie The Phantom, with Billy Zane and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Fly in the Red Baron for an experience of a lifetime. Red Baron Seaplanes is an eco-friendly tourist aviation business.

Townsville Panoramic: Take off from the waters in front of the Stand. Fly out along the river to the university/hospital return. Circle Castle Hill then proceed along the Strand at a low level before landing.

Circumnavigate Magnetic Island (departing Horseshoe Bay): Take off from the waters of Horseshoe Bay Magnetic Island. Fly around the Island taking in the scenic views of rocky granite headlands, 23 bays and beaches. Keep a look out for dolphins and whales! Optional tricks at the end of the flight.
